Il ragazzino ricostruisce così l’atmosfera dell’Italia della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, ritrova voci di uomini e donne che non si rassegnarono alla perdita della libertà e scopre l’importanza del 25 aprile 1945, giorno della Liberazione dell’Italia, quando finalmente si tornò a respirare.
